Place: The Art Academy’s cloakroom in the basement

Materials: 101 glowing light bulbs, 101 cloakroom tokens

Action: the audience chooses a token, gives it to me and I exchange it for a light bulb (hope).

The audience descends through a dark passage to the basement, where the cloakroom is located. A 101-bulb screen glows where coats and jackets usually hang. 
Infinite light, infinite hope, which can be exchanged, consumed. 
At the entrance to the cloakroom, spectators choose a token with a number and come to me to exchange it for one of the light bulbs. I move in slow motion and concentrate, giving each one an undivided, warm and attentive gaze. 
Attention is the most precious of currencies.
As more and more bulbs were unscrewed, the cloakroom became darker and darker. The more hope was given, the less remained. 
The performance ended when all the light bulbs had been given away.
